Buttercream Frosting/Icing 💡

When deciding what would be a great topping for thawed frozen fruit, I stumbled across the idea of a buttercream topping. I had confectioners sugar and vanilla and decided I could make a buttercream topping for just a touch of sweetness to the otherwise bitter thawed frozen fruit. As I followed the recipe for the buttercream, I realized there is a difference between buttercream frosting and buttercream icing. The frosting is thick and fluffy which you can normally find in your local grocery store and is used to coat the outside and the inner layers of a cake. There is also the icing which is thinner and glossier than frosting, that is also used as a glaze or for detailed decorating. As I followed my particular recipe, my concoction turned into a buttercream icing which turned out to be a delicious way to top the frozen fruit, by drizzling a small amount on the top. The following is a recipe for buttercream icing which is quick and simple way to top fruit for a delicious summer treat.
